North Star Perspectives

It has been over a year since I took a break from blogging. Writing for me is very much an inspiration thing, so when it becomes work, I pause. When my heart is full again and I think I have things to share, I write again.

So I have rebuilt my blog. This is very much a work in progress. I have culled back many of the blogs from my last writing season, leaving only the ones with the most traffic. Kind of a ‘best of’ selection.

In particular, my blogs on Throwing Out The Family Silver and Drifting Towards the Rocks of Insanity struck a chord with people. I think this is because in an ever-changing world, one of the things we have to keep upfront is what is the ‘North Star’ we need to keep sailing towards. What is timeless that cannot change and what is not timeless that should change? This is a vital, prayerful role of leadership in international development.

Technology also plays a part in this leadership dynamic. How do we leverage the amazing tools that we have to assist in positive change, while also recognising that all that comes with technology in our lives is not all good? After all, it is all about people. While there are other factors for leaders to consider, this is one area of focus and innovation for me that goes back many years, so I will dedicate part of my blog to this, particularly when it comes to some of the tools for leadership and international development.
